Lata Naik Founder & Chief Trainer

Lata Naik is a highly experienced Japanese language trainer with 20+ years of experience in Japanese language education, cross-cultural training, translation, and interpretation. Based in Bangalore, she is the Founder and Chief Trainer of Saachi Japanese Language Institute and has trained over 9,000 students and professionals across India and internationally.
She holds the prestigious JLPT N1 certification and a J2 Level certification from JETRO Business Japanese Proficiency Test (BJT), Tokyo, giving her a strong command of academic and business Japanese.
She also serves as a Japanese language faculty at prestigious universities in Bangalore, and conducts corporate Japanese language and cross-cultural training programmes for professionals across industries such as IT, automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, engineering, and hospitality. Apart from teaching, she has worked as a Japanese translator and interpreter across domains. She has also contributed as a consultant for Japanese-themed hospitality projects in Bangalore.
Life and Work in Japan
Having lived in Japan for over six years, Lata Naik gained deep exposure to the Japanese language, culture, and everyday life. During this period in Japan, she worked with Japanese organisations, participated in cultural exchange programmes, and taught Indian culture and traditions to Japanese school students in Fujisawa, Japan.
These unique experiences shaped her belief that language learning should go beyond textbooks and focus equally on communication, culture, and human connection.
Journey to Saachi
After returning to India, she worked with Oracle India for nearly two years, which also included onsite work at Oracle Japan for six months, before deciding to pursue her true passion — Japanese language education and cultural training. For the next 15 years, she managed and taught at a reputed Japanese language institute in Bangalore, playing a key role in academic operations, student mentoring, curriculum development, and expanding Japanese language learning opportunities.
In 2022, she founded Saachi Japanese Language Institute with the vision of offering interactive learner-centric education, replacing lecture-based methods.
Vision & Philosophy
She strongly believes that learning Japanese is not limited to grammar and vocabulary. According to her, true language learning involves understanding communication, etiquette, culture, values, and the people behind the language.
Under her leadership, Saachi Japanese Language Institute is recognised for its learner-friendly environment, conversation-focused teaching methods, native-speaker interactions, and practical approach to Japanese language learning.
Founder’s Statement
“ The name Saachi is inspired by the Japanese word 幸 (Sachi), which symbolises happiness, blessings, joy, and good fortune, as well as the word ‘Truth’ in Hindi and Sanskrit. Together, these meanings beautifully reflect the spirit and philosophy of Saachi.
At Saachi, our vision is not only to teach the Japanese language but also to create a joyful, meaningful, and immersive learning experience that helps students connect with the true essence of Japan — its culture, values, communication style, and way of life.
Saachi is also a heartfelt tribute to my mentor and teacher, Sachiko Koyanagi Sensei, who guided me through every aspect of Japanese language and culture during my years in Japan.
When I first moved to Japan, I never imagined that the country, its people, and its culture would become such an important part of my life. Beyond its technological advancement and beauty, what truly inspired me were the humility, discipline, warmth, respect, and strong sense of community that define Japanese society.
The experiences and knowledge I gained in Japan transformed not only my career but also my perspective towards life and learning. I met Ms. Lata at work. The company I worked for was expanding into India, and we were striving every day to popularize Japanese-style services in India. Ms. Lata worked as an interpreter for us.
